Student Teachers

Inquirer: Prospective teachers get course in city life

My son's class enjoyed two great student teachers from St. Joe's, this year. Last year, his kindergarten class had an Arcadia student.

In addition to learning how to teach kids from diverse backgrounds, the student teachers bring some great benefits.
  1. Student teachers cut the teacher-to-student ratio in half. My son's first grade class of 22 kids enjoyed an 11:1 ratio most of the year.
  2. Student teachers are hands-on help for kids who need additional support in the classroom.
  3. Student teachers are additional classroom management in a room full of squirrelly kids.

I understand that in the 2005/2006 school year, we'll have student teachers from:
  • The University of Pennsylvania
  • St. Joseph's University
  • Temple University
  • Arcadia University
