Cafe Broadway a hit!

anticipating Cafe' Broadway. (photo KP) Posted by Hello

Thanks to the Diva Duo (mother Ulrike Shapiro and music teacher Nicole Paulino), along with with a great team of parents, teachers, and STUDENTS, this year's theatrical production, "Cafe Broadway" was a great success. Spinning together great songs from Broadway and beyond, a great collection of Henry's brightest stars sang, danced, and drummed to the delight of a packed auditorium.

Students, parents, teachers and staff, and friends of the community painted scenery, brought in professional sound equipment, baked goodies for sale at the concession stand (OK, I cheated & bought my contribution at the co-op), secured raffle prizes, coalesced a live band to back up the singing students, assisted with rehearsals and backstage during the 2 nights of performances, and produced the program book.

Sponsors/contributors to the program book, which supported the costs of the production, include:
  • Susan DeJarnatt, Peter Schneider, Max Goodman & Rafi Schneider,
  • Ms. Shapiro & Ms. Paulino
  • Ranieri & Company Financial Services
  • Dad, Mom, Tim & Lindsay
  • Greg Moore, Margaret Funderberg, and Phoebe Funderberg-Moore
  • 8J
  • Woodmere Art Museum
  • C.W. Henry Teachers, Staff & Principal
  • Weavers Way Co-op
  • Nancy, Kevin & Ben Peter, and Marian Darmstadter

Thanks to the venerable Doc Gibbs for working and appearing with our student drummers for a knock-out number that included dancers.
